Limited edition underwear – Lacenet line by Modus Vivendi

A new men’s underwear line has just been released by Modus Vivendi. The new line is called Lacenet and is made from Italian, semi transparent and incredibly sexy fabrics. The Lacenet line comprises low cut briefs, backless briefs and brazil cut boxers and is available in a limited run. Modus Vivendi offers this underwear in two different fabrics, black and white, each in an original floral pattern combined with a matching, dense fishnet, waist. The items are handcrafted and contoured to fit perfectly the male form. 

The conceptual campaign takes inspiration from the Greek mythology and more specifically from Atlas, a symbol of masculinity, strength and endurance. Model Theodoros Karvouniaris is seen carrying on his shoulders a world made of lace, a play on the endurance of the fabric and the masculine styles of the Lacenet line. The photo shoot took place in the studio of Modus Vivendi and was photographed by the talented team of P2Photography.

My buddy comes to New York City once a week and does deliveries for his father’s company and I’d never really been to the city so I went with him one day just over a year ago. We were walking around and some guy came up to me and asked, “What agency are you with?” I was like, “Uh, I don’t know what you’re talking about,” and then he gave me his card and told me to check out his agency. I did and then because they were so interested I checked out a few more, and then a week later I decided to sign with Request. —Trevor

My love is sports. It would probably be football and basketball mainly. I love all kinds of sports and I want to be a physical education teacher. I played football and basketball my whole entire life and now that I know I’m not playing it, I want to at least coach it and be a part of it. I also love weightlifting and fitness and learning different types of workouts. I’m also pretty big into snowboarding and dirt biking. Obviously that’s seasonal so I try and do it when I can, or else it’s pretty much spending time at the beach. I’ve lived there my whole life so it’s all I know. —Trevor

Quite interestingly, Donatella Versace revealed in a side revelation today that she is already over see-now-buy-now. “I tried it with Versus four years ago. Antony Vaccarello—who left Versus for Saint Laurent—has been replaced with a young in-house team, and Donatella is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the launch of the collection by “getting back to my Versus girl. She’s a bad girl, a rebel. She breaks rules.”

With Bella Hadid walking out first in not much more than a black leather jacket and a chunky pair of biker boots, that box was pretty much ticked. Hadid’s sister, Gigi, and her boyfriend, Zayn Malik, were in the front row, creating a buzz around the event, which was held in the cavernous basement of the University of Westminster. In order to reach that young Versus audience—who knows, maybe even studying at the college—Donatella said she had been working to bring the prices down. “The difference between now and the beginning,” she said, “is that there’s a new metal mesh that is made out of aluminum and really light, so we can now use it!”

The following review was written about the brand’s previous Fall 2016 show.

Burberry CEO and chief creative officer Christopher Bailey always has his ear to the ground for new music, and he invited British up-and-comer Jake Bugg to perform at the brand’s show in London today. In keeping with the tone of the men’s presentation in January, there was a distinctly David Bowie vibe to the clothes, and models, male and female, had their faces sprinkled with Ziggy Stardust–style glitter. Bailey described the new collection as a patchwork of his favorite things, and the compilation of ’70s glam-rock motifs, military tailoring, and mixed-media bohemia had a soulful English eclecticism about it. Edie Campbell, a model whose whole being seems to vibrate London-girl cool, opened the show with a look that spoke to that mix—a thigh-skimming jacquard dress, patterned tights, and a regimental navy wool coat with tons of attitude that grazed the edge of rubber-soled patchwork python boots.

A groovy tomboy feeling came through most strongly in the outerwear, and each overcoat had its own quirky twist, like an oversize shearling coat replete with multicolored python piping and a khaki green field jacket with jumbo golden hardware reminiscent of the Queen’s Guard. Those slightly mannish proportions worked nicely with the sweeter, romantic ideas in the collection, such as the sequined minis covered with swirly ’70s wallpaper patterns and the print-on-print maxi dresses. With its dinky ladylike shape, wide utilitarian strap, and shiny, extra-large buckle, the label’s new patchwork handbag seemed to speak to the best of both worlds and had a kooky maximalism that felt right for now.

And on the topic of right now, it’s been a matter of weeks since the label announced it would be making shows direct-to-consumer in September. Burberry has been among the first in the industry to embrace the Internet age with open arms, optimizing its global reach via all the digital channels at its disposal—live-stream, Snapchat, and an important partnership with Apple—and the brand now seems more than equipped to navigate the change. Suki Waterhouse, who sat front row at the show, clearly couldn’t wait to get her hands on the collection and was already wearing a pair of the new studded ankle boots. Generating that level of excitement with shoppers will be the next big step come fall.
